Spaghetti and Meatballs for Kids

 

spaghetti and meatballs for kids


1 pound spaghetti
grated parmesan cheese


SAUCE

Ingredients:
2 Tbs olive oil
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 28-ounce cans diced tomatoes in juice
4 Tbs chopped fresh basil

Preparation:

  1. Cook pasta according to package direction.  Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium-low heat.  Add onion;  sauté until golden, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add garlic, tomatoes and basil; bring to boil.  Reduce heat;  simmer until sauce thickens.  Season with salt, pepper and sugar.



MEATBALLS

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 tsp rosemary
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 big onion, finely chopped
2 Tbs garlic, minced


Preparation:

  1. Combine ground beef, half of the onion, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Form the mixture into 2-inch meatballs.
  2. Fry the meatballs until brown.  Put in your spaghetti sauce and let simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Top with parmesan cheese and serve hot on cooked spaghetti.
